How long does it take to format a CV?
Most CVs are formatted in under 10 seconds. Complex or scanned documents may take up to 30 seconds. After the initial formatting, re-exports with edits take 1 to 3 seconds.
What file formats can I upload?
RefineCV accepts PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, CSV, TXT, ODT, RTF, and Apple Pages files. Scanned documents and image-based PDFs are also supported via OCR. Maximum file size is 10 MB.
Can I edit the CV after formatting?
Yes. After AI formats your CV, you can edit every extracted field: summary, experience, education, skills, certifications, contact details, and more. The preview updates in real time as you type. Re-export as many times as you need at no extra cost.
Do I need to set up a template first?
You can start with one of our pre-built starter templates and customize it later. Or build your own from scratch. Either way, you only need to set up your template once. Every CV you format after that uses it automatically.
How does anonymization work?
Enable anonymization in your template settings and choose which fields to hide: name, email, phone, address, LinkedIn, photo, age, or references. Every CV formatted with that template will automatically have those fields redacted. No manual work per CV.
Is there a limit on team members?
No. Every plan includes unlimited team seats at no extra cost. Add your entire agency. There is no per-user fee.
Is my candidate data safe?
Yes. The original file is deleted immediately after processing. We do not store raw candidate data in our database. The only thing we keep is the formatted CV itself, stored in GDPR-compliant secure storage so your team can re-download it from the history page.
