Plans and pricing
How does the Free plan work?
Sign up without a credit card and format up to 10 CVs at no cost. The 10 free CVs are yours for life and never expire. You get access to every feature: template builder, AI extraction, post-format editing, anonymization, history, and unlimited team seats. When you are ready for more, choose Pay As You Go or Pro.
What happens after I use my 10 free CVs?
You will be prompted to activate a paid plan. You can choose Pay As You Go ($0.40 per CV) or Pro ($50/month for 200 CVs). Without a paid plan, you can still access your format history and re-download previously formatted CVs, but you cannot format new ones.
Do free CVs carry over to a paid plan?
Yes. If you activate Pay As You Go or Pro after using only 5 of your 10 free CVs, the remaining 5 are still available. Free CVs are always used first. You are only charged once all 10 free CVs have been used.
How does Pay As You Go billing work?
You are charged based on how many CVs you format each month. On the 1st of every month, you receive an invoice for the CVs formatted that month at $0.40 each. There is no monthly fee, no minimum spend, and no commitment. If you format 1 CV, you pay $0.40. If you format 100, you pay $40.
How does the Pro plan work?
Pro costs $50 per month and includes 200 CVs. That works out to $0.25 per CV, the lowest rate available. If you go beyond 200 CVs in a month, each additional CV is charged at $0.30 and added to your next monthly invoice. Pro also includes priority email support and a monthly feedback call.
Do unused Pro CVs roll over to the next month?
No. The 200 included CVs reset at the start of each billing cycle. Unused CVs do not carry over. If you consistently use fewer than 200 CVs per month, Pay As You Go may be more cost-effective for your agency.
How is Pro overage charged?
If you exceed 200 CVs in a billing cycle, each additional CV costs $0.30. The overage amount is added to your next monthly invoice alongside the $50 subscription fee. For example, if you format 230 CVs in March, your April invoice would be $50 (subscription) + $9 (30 overage CVs at $0.30 each) = $59.
Switching and cancellation
Can I switch from Pay As You Go to Pro?
Yes, at any time. When you switch, your outstanding Pay As You Go balance is settled immediately, and the $50 Pro fee is charged on the same day. For example, if you formatted 50 CVs on PAYG ($20 outstanding) and then switch to Pro, you pay $20 + $50 = $70 on the day of the switch. From the next month onward, you pay $50 per month (plus any overage).
What happens when I cancel Pro?
You keep full access to Pro until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account automatically falls back to Pay As You Go. You can continue formatting CVs at $0.40 each with no interruption. Your templates, history, and team members are all preserved.
Can I go back to the Free plan after cancelling?
Yes. If you cancel your paid plan and have used all 10 free CVs, your account enters a free state with no formatting credits. You can still access your format history, download previously formatted CVs, and manage your templates. To format new CVs, activate Pay As You Go or Pro again.
What is your refund policy?
If you are not happy with the quality of the formatted CVs or the subscription, we offer a full refund. Contact us at team@refine-cv.com and we will process it promptly.
Is there a contract or minimum commitment?
None. Free CVs never expire. Pay As You Go has no monthly fee and no minimum spend. Pro can be cancelled anytime. No penalties, no lock-in. You can switch between plans or cancel entirely whenever you want.
Features and access
Do all plans include the same features?
Yes. Every plan, including Free, gets the full feature set: custom template builder, AI extraction, post-format editing, skill extraction, format history, anonymization, OCR support, 10 input formats, 3 export formats, and unlimited team seats. The only difference between plans is price, volume, and support level.
Do you charge per user or seat?
Never. Every plan includes unlimited team seats at no extra cost. Add your consultants, resourcers, and managers. We charge based on the number of CVs formatted, not the number of people on your team.
What if the AI makes a mistake on a CV?
You review and edit all extracted data before generating the final document. Nothing goes to a client without your approval. You can change any field, including job titles, dates, skills, and summaries, then re-export instantly at no extra cost.
Payment and invoices
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.
Can I download invoices?
Yes. Pay As You Go and Pro users can download invoices from the billing page in the app. Invoices are generated at the end of each billing period.
What currency do you charge in?
All prices are in USD (US dollars).
Do you offer annual billing?
Annual billing is not available by default. If you prefer it, contact us at team@refine-cv.com. We offer an annual Pro plan at $500 per year, saving $100 compared to monthly billing.
Enterprise and custom plans
Do you offer enterprise or high-volume plans?
Yes. If your agency formats more than 1,000 CVs per month, contact us at team@refine-cv.com for a customized plan with volume pricing tailored to your needs.
Do you offer discounts for non-profits or education?
We evaluate discount requests on a case-by-case basis. Email us at team@refine-cv.com with details about your organization and we will see what we can do.
Data and security
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your format history remains accessible indefinitely, even on the free plan. You can always log in to download previously formatted CVs. Your templates and team settings are also preserved in case you decide to reactivate later.
Is my candidate data safe?
Yes. When you upload a CV, we extract the data and generate a branded document. The original file is deleted immediately after processing. We do not store raw candidate data in our database. The only thing we keep is the formatted CV itself, stored in GDPR-compliant secure storage so your team can re-download it from the history page. If you prefer not to have history at all, let us know and we will disable it for your agency.
